BUILDING ON A LEGACY

Ken Seaman, 1942-2021, started Midwinter Bluegrass Festival in 1986 and played a huge role in promoting and supporting the bluegrass scene in Colorado. His sudden passing left a hole in the fabric of the Colorado bluegrass community and he is deeply missed. An educator, bluegrass musician, sports fan, beloved family member and friend, Ken Seaman leaves a legacy as an amazing human being.

The Ken Seaman Scholarship Fund honors Ken’s legacy by providing financial support to aspiring musicians dedicated to bluegrass music. This fund aims to nurture the next generation of talent, offering scholarships to attend Midwinter Bluegrass Festival, meet performers and participate in workshops. Recipients must be at least 12 years old.

Two scholarships will be awarded to musicians with financial need. Applications close December 31, 2024.
